Former Adviser, Natural resource management and climate change
Shreya is our former adviser on natural resource management and climate change. Her work focused on the links between climate change, conflict and fragility; natural resource governance; urban resilience, conflict-sensitive adaptation, development and humanitarian responses. She worked for Alert from 2011 to 2018.
She is a contributing author to the 2015 report, A new climate for peace: Taking action on climate and fragility risks, commissioned by the G7 foreign ministries.
Before joining Alert, she worked as a researcher for the Overseas Development Institute (ODI), where she was responsible for research and analysis on disaster risk reduction, social protection, the Millennium Development Goals and evidence-based policy and practice. She has also worked as a consultant with Save the Children UK and Social Development Direct and as a research assistant for the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) Cities’ Urban Age programme.
She holds an MSc in Development Studies from LSE and a BA in Political Science from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.
