Programme Manager, SAHAJ
Niresh manages our ‘SAHAJ: Strengthening Access to Holistic, Gender Responsive and Accountable Justice’ project, aimed at tackling the root causes of gender-based violence and improve the capacity of the security and justice system to provide protection and services to the most at-risk women and girls in Nepal. He is responsible for providing strategic direction and guidance to the project to ensure the high quality, high-impact project outputs and outcomes.
With 17 years of experience, Niresh has worked on various themes including conflict and peacebuilding, security and justice, livelihood and forestry. He has also helped to formulate and implement comprehensive monitoring and evaluation systems that oversee successes of implementation, measure progress and impact of programmes, and establish effective lesson learning and accountability mechanisms.
In the past Niresh has worked at Search for Common Ground, SAS International, FCDO Nepal, Nepal-UK Community Forestry Project and Livelihood Forestry Program.
Niresh has a Bachelors in Economics and Mathematics and a Masters in Rural Development. He also did a course on Professional and Project Management from Telford Campus (University of Wolverhampton).
