Alert statement following vehicle fire in DRC
International Alert is aware of footage circulating on social media of one of its vehicles on fire after being hijacked in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo, earlier today [December 2]. Both International Alert staff members are safe. International Alert is working with local authorities to urgently investigate the incident.
International Alert is strictly non-partisan, and has worked to build peace in Democratic Republic of Congo since 2010.
