Lessons learned: insights from a good governance project in Kenya’s oil sector

These four lesson learned papers were produced as part of the Enabling Good Governance in Kenya’s oil sector project. The aim of the papers is to capture reflections and experiences from the project and relate them to existing knowledge and practice.

The reflections themselves are heterogeneous, and this is reflected in the papers as a group. They relate to business operations in contexts affected by contexts and fragility; to the impact of the creation of new economic opportunities; and to practical considerations relating to implementing dialogue projects that are intended to influence the behaviour of oil and gas companies.

They are written for several discrete audiences: policy actors, NGOs, bi-lateral agencies considering private sector strategies. A practice note on operations in FCS is written specifically for companies.
