Seventeen leaders graduate from restorative justice course in the Philippines
Congratulations to the 17 community and civil society leaders who joined the first network of restorative justice (RJ) practitioners in the Bangsamoro, as they successfully completed the pilot run of the 12-week RJ training course pioneered by International Alert Philippines through the support of the Australian Embassy in the Philippines.
Our first cohort of International Alert Philippines graduates are composed of women leaders, development and peacebuilding professionals, and young civil servants from Lanao del Sur, the SPMS Box in Maguindanao, Zambasulta, and Metro Manila. We look forward to working with them further in implementing the RJ initiatives they designed that are focused on promoting constructive and progressive alternatives to conventional retributive ways of responding to violence and wrongdoing in their communities.
