A song for peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo

Musicians celebrated our Peace Day Festival 2017 in the Democratic Republic of Congo by writing a song for peace ‘Congo, Patrie de Paix!’

The festival, organised by our team in DRC, brought communities together for two days of street dancing, songs, football, a play and a peace march.

‘Congo, Patrie de Paix’ was written by International Alert’s Project Officer in DRC, Enack Makunda Bendela.

Congo, Country of Peace!

Congo, country in the centre of Africa
You overflow with potential
With more than 450 tribes Your fauna and flora make you idyllic
Your soil and what lies beneath are a geological mystery

The conflicts and wars of Congo
