Statement on our colleague in Tunisia’s arrest along with two civil society activists

International Alert staff member Mehdi Barhoumi and two other civil society activists have been released on bail today following their arrest in Tunisia on Sunday 7 March 2021.

We continue to follow the case closely and are concerned that the right to legal representation was not respected. We continue to seek further information on the nature of the charges.

We thank members of Tunisian civil society for their support and solidarity at this time.
