Swechchha Dahal
Swechchha worked at Alert until May 2023. She worked closely with International Alert’s country and thematic teams to support and advise on mainstreaming gender into programmes and projects. She also focused on global and national level influencing on gender sensitivity, the women, peace and security agenda and gender equality.
Prior to joining Alert, Swechchha was the Asia Conflict and Security Adviser at Saferworld, supporting country programmes to integrate gender into peacebuilding programmes. She has also worked in various capacities with research institutes, universities and local and international NGOs.
She has a doctorate degree in Conflict, Peace and Development Studies from Tribhuvan University under the NORHED Scholarship, where her research focused on reviewing women’s lived experience of statebuilding processes in Nepal.
