Former Director of Policy, Advocacy and Communications

Hannah worked as International Alert’s Director of Policy, Advocacy and Communications between 2022 and 2024. She led Alert’s work to influence policy and practice at the national and global level, ensuring Alert’s peacebuilding expertise brings about change to ensure a more peaceful world.

Hannah has 20 years’ experience in advocacy and communications on a range of human rights, refugee rights, health and social justice issues both nationally and internationally. Prior to joining Alert Hannah led policy, campaigns and communications at National AIDS Trust, working to keep HIV high on the UK government’s health policy agenda and ensure ongoing commitment to the goal of ending new HIV transmissions in the UK by 2030. Before that, she led campaigns and communications for Freedom from Torture, shining a light on the use of torture globally and advocating for the rights of those seeking asylum in the UK.

Hannah sits on the Board of Trustees of the Separated Child Foundation. She has a Masters in International Politics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) and a BSc in International Relations with French.
