George Grayson

As Head of Natural Resource Management and Climate Change, George provided strategic, hands-on support and advice to colleagues, external collaborators and advocacy targets on climate crisis (CC) and natural resource management (NRM) as they link to peacebuilding and security.

George worked for International Alert between 2016-2023, leading programme development in the Horn of Africa region and providing technical support on monitoring and evaluation. He has extensive experience designing and evaluating peacebuilding programming in the East and Horn of Africa region. Prior to joining Alert, he worked for Saferworld as Programme Development Advisor for Kenya and Somalia. He also has experience within the higher education and non-profit sectors in the UK.

He holds a BA in Philosophy from the University of Bristol and an MSc in Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies.
