Elizabeth Kariuki
Elizabeth led on the implementation of International Alert’s conflict-sensitive business practice work with businesses by accompanying them in their endeavour to operate responsibly in conflict-affected contexts until September 2021.
She also supported and collaborated with country programmes and other Peacebuilding Advisory Unit (PAU) strands to develop and implement projects on issues related to private sector engagement and peace economies broadly. Further, she conducted research and analysis to develop key advocacy messages that inform project development and implementation and delivers training to a range of actors, including the private sector, government agencies and civil society and/or community members.
Prior to Alert, Elizabeth worked as a Programme Manager – Economic and Social Justice at the Kenya Human Rights Commission.
Her experience includes governance, corporate responsibility and inclusive development.
She holds a BA in Political Science (major) and Sociology, and MA in Development Studies from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.
