Bijay manages our ‘Safe media: Promoting safe, professional, independent and accountable media for the promotion of human rights, democracy and peace in Nepal’ project, aimed at strengthening media sector to contribute to peace, human rights and democracy in Nepal. Bijay has more than 10 years of experience in working in development sector including peacebuilding, private sector development, governance and media. His areas of expertise include adaptive project management, research, media, federalism, governance, market system development and Results Based Measurement.
Prior to Alert, Bijay worked on the Nepal Agricultural Market Development Programme (Sahaj) funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and the Nepal Market Development Programme (Samarth) funded by the UKAID. He has worked in project implementation and management within different organisations including DANIDA, United Mission to Nepal and UNDP. He has an MA in Anthropology and is currently pursuing an MPhil in Anthropology, both at Tribhuvan University, Nepal.
