Gender and Peacebuilding Adviser - Nepal

This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional candidate to join our Gender and Peacebuilding Team for a period of 9 months (maternity cover). You will play a key role in delivering International Alert’s (Alert) gender and peacebuilding work aligned with the organisational strategy (2019-2023).

With a degree in a relevant subject, you will have 3-4 substantial experience of leading and supporting research, proposal development and technical implementation of projects focused on Gender and Peacebuilding, as well as advocating for policy change with donors and other stakeholders. You will train, advise and mentor Alert staff, partners and other organisation as appropriate on gender, peace and security programming including mainstreaming gender into non-specific gender programmes/projects both country-focused as well as policy-focused programmes.

With a strong analytical, research and writing skills, you will work closely with Alert’s country programmes and thematic strands in designing, implementing and monitoring research projects related to gender and non-gender specific programmes. Finally, you will contribute to International Alert’s broader policy work on gender, peace and security including through the Gender Action on Peace and Security network (GAPS) and participating in networks / working groups as appropriate.
