This report discusses the challenges and issues of the social integration of migrant communities. This has long been an issue of concern for governments around the world, in terms of both migration between and within countries. Internal migration has increased dramatically in Pakistan in recent years, largely due to growing urbanisation. When people move in this way, even within the same country, they bring with them different religious, ethnic and cultural traditions and practices. Yet there has been little attention paid to understanding this phenomenon and what it means for stability in the country. This research therefore goes some way to addressing this question.
