This report looks into the role the private sector can play in improving public security and access to justice in Pakistan. The provision of security and access to justice are universally regarded as essential public services, and basic prerequisites for promoting good governance and ensuring a peaceful society, which in turn are essential for sustained social and economic development. This research discusses what a lack of security and access to justice can mean for businesses. It also provides examples of where the private sector has played a role in improving public security and access to justice, in Pakistan and elsewhere. This includes discussion of our work in Jacobabad and Kashmore districts in Sindh province.
