Alexandra is International Alert’s Head of Impact. She oversees our organisation’s approach to impact assessment and is responsible for ensuring our programme design, monitoring, evaluation, research and learning for peacebuilding, conflict prevention and conflict sensitivity are rigorous, high-quality, and fit for purpose. Alexandra joined Alert in 2022 and brings nearly 20 years of experience with global and local organisations driving positive social change.

Born in Colombia, she has worked in South America, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Africa and Europe. Prior to joining Alert, she held multiple strategy & advisory roles during her 14+ years at Amnesty International, including as a Researcher, Impact officer, Capacity Building Coordinator for the MENA region and as the Senior Lead Advisor for Impact. She also held director, advisory and research roles at Article 19, Terre des Hommes France, at UNESCO, and at the Centre for Peace Studies at Universidad de los Andes in Bogota. She holds a MScR in Sociology, a M.Phil. in development studies from the Sorbonne University Paris, a M.A. in Conflict Resolution from Université Toulouse 1 and has undergraduate degrees in political science and anthropology. She is fluent in Spanish, English and French.
