Business for peace in Pakistan
Strengthening the peacebuilding potential of the private sector
This project aims to strengthen the peacebuilding potential of the private sector in Pakistan. Conflict divides in Pakistan have widened in recent years, in a society polarised along regional, communal and sectarian lines. The business sector has a unique advantage for addressing these conflict risks within society. It can build cohesion and resilience to radicalisation through conflict-sensitive business practices and strategic relationships. We give businesses the skills to support cohesion in communities, to create partnerships and promote business across conflict divides. We also build the capacity of the private sector to advocate and implement responsible business practices in Pakistan. These practical, business-led activities benefit local communities, the private sector and policy-makers alike.
