Building lasting relationships
Influencing the practice of effective aid in Sri Lanka
This project aims to ensure that Sri Lanka’s development partners are mindful of and responsive to the impact their funding has on the conflict dynamics in the country.
Post-war economic recovery and development have a significant impact on reconciliation and conflict dynamics in Sri Lanka. At the same time, there is a lack of general awareness, understanding and research on the post-war economy and the dynamics of foreign aid. Donors are increasingly interested in how to make aid and development more effective.
We advocate for more effective and transparent giving among policy-makers and have held several discussions with donors on effective and sensitive aid and development. We are also creating a platform to monitor development activity, in order to improve donor understanding of the effectiveness of their aid.
