Unheard Voices journalist wins prize

The Unheard Voices journalists’ work received special recognition on 18 December – International Migrants Day, when one of the reports won the multimedia category of the ‘Chemodan 2014’ journalism awards.

Organised by People in Need, the awards are part of an EU-funded project in Armenia that aims to support circular migration and the reintegration process.

The multimedia report by Harut Harutunyan was published by the agency YERKIR.AM and tells the story of a desolate former Azerbaijani village in Armenia, now populated by Armenian refugees.

Unheard Voices involves almost 50 journalists at various stages in their careers, who contribute materials capturing the lives of ordinary people affected by the unresolved conflict. The project is supported by the EU as part of the European Partnership for the Peaceful Settlement of the Conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh (EPNK). Find out more at www.epnk.org
