Partnership Call – Mupaka Shamba Letu Phase II Project

Alert is looking for implementing partners to achieve results and ensure smooth running of activities in the following towns/locations and sites in Burundi: i) Bujumbura/Gatumba, on the Gatumba-Kavinvira border, ii) Cibitoke, on the Ruhwa-Bugarama border; iii) Ngozi (Mparamirundi), at the Kanyaru-haut-Akanyaru border and iv) Kirundo, on the Gasenyi-Nemba border.

The partner will be responsible for implementing activities in the towns/localities in line with the project’s objectives and expected results. The project will work mainly with FPCTs and their spouses, P-ACTs (Platforms of Cross-Border Traders Associations), cooperatives, SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) but will keep a focus on new categories of beneficiaries such as young entrepreneurs and traders, cross-border communities and high-level private sector actors. It will continue to work with a wide range of political and administrative players at local, provincial, national and regional level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the project start-up workshop.
  • Develop/adapt project approaches according to context.
  • Develop the annual work plan and budget.
  • Identify project beneficiaries in the various project sites in Burundi.
  • Introduce the project to local, provincial, and national authorities with a view to securing their commitment.
  • Implement the various project activities set out in the validated work plan and budget in compliance with the required quality standards.
  • Ensure sound financial management of the project in compliance with donor procedures and requirements.
  • Submit high-quality narrative and financial reports and evidence on the indicators of change produced by the project.
  • Participate in the project’s learning and evaluation processes.
