Professor of International Security at the University of Birmingham
Stefan is Professor of International Security at the University of Birmingham. He is a specialist in contemporary security challenges and has extensively written on ethnic conflict, international conflict management and state-building. Among his 17 books to date are Ethnic Conflict: A Global Perspective (Oxford University Press 2006, 2nd ed. 2007), Conflict Management in Divided Societies: Theories and Practice (2012, with Christalla Yakinthou), and The European Union as a Global Conflict Manager (Routledge 2012, with Richard G. Whitman).
