I would definitely recommend volunteering at a festival for Alert - I met lots of great people, all the other volunteers were really friendly and good fun. We had a fantastic time and I made some good friends. And the best of all, I got to see one of my favourite band - the Red Hot Chili Peppers - all for a good cause. I'm really looking forward to it again next year - it's a great way to spend a weekend, and it didn't cost me a penny...see you there?!

Organise your own fundraising event |
It could be a live music event…
On 7th December charity fundraiser amp (art music politic) organised a night of live music at The Others, Stoke Newington in support of International Alert. Acts included The Penny Black Remedy, and Circus CABARET hosted by Simone Romano.
Or the challenge of a lifetime…
Over the August bank holiday, Nick Hankins and his team - James and Pete Hankins, Ash Rathod, Phil Mounteney, Jo Durham, Alex New and Paul Quayle - completed the Three Peaks Challenge to fundraise for International Alert. In total they have raised over £3,500 – a fantastic result. |

We made it back intact and all in all it was a great experience, and even if being utterly drenched, fatigued and freezing doesn’t float your boat you do get a great feeling of achievement and some free grub along the way. Thanks to everyone who sponsored us, it really did cause us as much pain as we all thought it would and hopefully will go to do more good and create a lot of happiness for the people who International Alert help – Nick Hankins |
|
| The challenge involved climbing the highest mountain in England (Scafell Pike - 978m), Scotland (Ben Nevis - 1344m) and Wales (Snowdon - 1085m) in succession. This is an impressive 26 miles of walking/climbing, and around 10,000 feet of ascent and descent.
It is a real endurance test with each mountain proving a gruelling mental and physical challenge. We hope the team feels a huge sense of achievement at having completed the event, and for raising valuable funds towards Alert’s programmes.
Or anything that works… Have you always wanted to organise a speed dating night for your single friends, host a dinner party, or just get rid of all your old junk in a car boot sale?! Be it pub quiz, or tea party – get involved and organise an event to help us raise vital funds.

Be it a bungee jump, food fair, bar crawl or poetry slam… you’ll be supporting our work, while having a good time. |
