Liberia Peace Festival – Thousands
of artists, performers and spectators gathered in Liberia last month to
celebrate West Africa's rich traditions and culture, and their
common wish for peace. Read an account of the Peace Festival here

Alert secures funding for conflict prevention work
– The West African state of Sao Tome and Principe will be benefiting
from two new community radio stations as Alert secures funding for its
work helping the island to prepare for new oil revenues. Find out how the grant will be used

Conflict and climate change –
On the eve of the IPCC's report on the consequences of climate change,
Alert has identified 61 countries around the world where
climatic changes are also likely to bring increased risk
