Interventions in conflict contexts, no matter how well intended, sometimes do more harm than good. This training will show you how to analyse conflict situations, improve the peacebuilding potential of interventions and avoid adverse consequences.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
- Learn how to conduct a conflict analysis and devise conflict-sensitive approaches
- Build on your knowledge and practise your skills for working on conflict issues
- Network and share experiences with people from different governments and institutions
COURSE METHODOLOGY
Using a combination of theoretical input, experiential learning and reflection, the course will guide participants through current theory, policy and practice discourse on the key concepts and principles underpinning conflict analysis and conflict sensitivity.
The course will give participants the opportunity to apply the tools and models learnt in practical scenarios, conducting analysis and developing strategies with colleagues from different departments and institutions.
International Alert trainers will facilitate the course, with external speakers from government and international institutions.
