Documentary production consultant, Tunisia

Location: Tunis, Tunisia (with frequent travel within the country)
Duration: 6 months
Start date: February 2018
Closing date: 13 February 2018

International Alert are looking for a visual anthropologist documentary director to undertake the production of a film in three marginalised locations in Tunisia, within the framework of an EU-funded project.

The main purpose of the role is to produce a documentary film on youth, political space and authorities in marginalised areas. Since we have previously conducted activities in several locations, the film needs to be situated in the broader context of the existing findings from our work, accentuating particular images and dimensions.

The consultant will also conduct interviews, focus group meetings and a number of film shooting days in different locations after the validation of the script.

The filmmaker needs to be experienced in editing and post-production processes. All interviews will be conducted in Arabic, so fluency in spoken and written Arabic is essential.

For further details, please read the role description.

As the assignment will be based in different locations within Tunisia, frequent trips will be part of the assignment.

If you wish to be considered for this position, please send an ‘Expression of Interest’, indicating your current rate and details of your referees, along with an up-to-date CV, to job-tunisia@international-alert.org.

The deadline for expressions of interest is Tuesday 13 February 2018.

While International Alert will endeavour to acknowledge all submissions within a reasonable time, this may not always be possible due to limited resources. International Alert is an equal opportunities employer. All submissions will be judged strictly on the basis of merit.
