Stefan Wolff

Stefan is Professor of International Security at the University of Birmingham. He is a specialist in contemporary security challenges and has extensively written on ethnic conflict, international conflict management and state-building. Among his 17 books to date are Ethnic Conflict: A Global Perspective (Oxford University Press 2006, 2nd ed. 2007), Conflict Management in Divided Societies: Theories and Practice (2012, with Christalla Yakinthou), and The European Union as a Global Conflict Manager (Routledge 2012, with Richard G. Whitman). Bridging the divide between academia and policy-making, he has been involved in various phases of conflict settlement processes, including in Transnistria/Moldova, Kirkuk/Iraq, and Yemen. Wolff is a graduate of the University of Leipzig, the University of Cambridge, and the London School of Economics and Political Science.
