Nobel Prize can build momentum for peace in Colombia

TRANSCRIPT

We welcome the Nobel Peace Prize award last Friday to Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos.

This is a prize also to the FARC and to the victims of the armed conflict in Colombia, who have been working for the last four years to try to achieve the best agreement.

We understand also this prize has had huge international support and now we think that the Colombian society has a commitment to live up to this international support.

We think, and we believe, that this prize helps to build a momentum to achieve the final agreement.

And we want to call on the Colombian society to continue to demand the right to peace, to embrace the peace process and to believe that peace in Colombia is possible.

Thank you.
